Research and Dissemination
The project is not yet fully completed, and we are in the process of compiling and describing the research results and organizational perspectives. Here is some information about our method (data and analyses, which we also rely on for condensing results and materials on this website), as well as our dissemination activities.
During the project period from November 1. 2021, to December 1. 2024, various digital teaching activities within music education, from beginner to elite level, have been developed, tested, and evaluated.
Number of instructors in the project:
- 13 Fully active instructors and represented on the website
- 14 Briefly participating / peripherally affiliated instructors
A total of 46 activities have been conducted over 4 semesters: Fall 2022, Spring 2022, Fall 2023, Spring 2023
Approximately 190 students/pupils have directly participated in the project.
Design-based development and research approach, where researchers have facilitated that partners together have:
- Developed and Used in their own teaching
- Plenary Workshops and Sparring Groups
- Followed activities and students/pupils
Analysis approaches:
Qualitative data, presenting the students’ perspectives through their own statements or the instructors’ statements about the students
Thematic analysis across collected empirical data with an abductive approach.
Analysis based on a set of defined analysis points, as well as a more grounded empirical analysis.
Data collection methods:
- Observations – physical and online teaching
- Interviews – individual/focus group
- Qualitative questionnaires
- Logbooks
- Field notes from sparring meetings/start-up meetings
- Video and audio recordings – interviews, sparring meetings, instructors’ reflections
- Field notes from workshops
- Notes from interviews
- Mobile probes
- Emails – instructors and students
- Email interviews
